I'm Cheryl. I'm 54, from Liverpool, and I've started over more times than I can count. This is my story — the whole honest truth of it — and why I'm still building today.
I Left School With Two GCSEs
Not exactly the blueprint for success. But at 19 I joined the civil service, and two years later I bought my first home — a little two-bed terrace. I didn't know it then, but I was only just getting started
I Got Bored — So I Left, and Built Something
I went into sales, got a taste for the finer things, and built a company from scratch. Three properties. Fancy cars. An eight-acre farmhouse with a swimming pool. Staff. A whole life, built entirely by me, from nothing.
Then 2008 Took Everything
The 2008 financial crash changed everything overnight. I had to let everyone go, liquidate the company, and six. months later I filed for personal bankruptcy. I lost my company and all three properties. The cars. Everything I'd built — gone, just like that.
I Started Again From Nothing
I went back to work, and slowly rebuilt. Around that time I also faced a breast cancer diagnosis and a mastectomy. I set up a tarot reading business but couldn't afford a website — so I taught myself to build them, I then built nearly 40 for other women starting out in business. I qualified as a life coach. I ranked number one on Google for a decade, with over 600 five-star reviews. I self-published books with one of my best friends, ran workshops and self-development classes, created digital products. I didn't just rebuild. I built bigger.
I Wanted to Earn — Without Being in the Room
By 2025 my daughter was leaving home. I'd already built some passive income — something that worked while I rested — but I wanted another stream. I found a travel business. Not booking holidays for strangers. Something far more interesting than that.
When Life Changed Overnight — Again
February 2026. My plans changed overnight, again — a stage 4 diagnosis. I've now retired from the tarot career I'd built over 15 years. But the travel business? That has stayed. That has become everything. It's became my lifeline, and I'm building towards leaving a legacy business for my daughter.
Why I Refuse to Play Small
This isn't about sympathy. I'm telling you so you understand why I build with urgency — why I don't waste my days, why I won't just stay home and accept it. It's because I have a daughter. I'm building this to outlast me, and for my daughter — and she also needs to know her mum didn't quit.

Now I Help Women Earn an Income Through Travel
I've built a travel business from my phone — earning from travel booked for other people, and a residual income as I introduce more people to the business. All around real life: hospital appointments, bad days, and everything in between. Women over 40 are thriving with this. If I can build it, so can you.
